Anglo Concertina

The Anglo Concertina is of German descent and sounds a different note on push and pull.

As Melodeons were invented at roughly the same time as the English Concertina, the story goes that the two instruments met on the counter of a dealer or shop somewhere and some enterprising person modified the Concertina to take Melodeon reeds and tuning. Hence the Anglo-German Concertina was born.

Carl Frederick Uhlig did patent an Bisonoric Diatonic Concertina in 1834 - whether as a result of seeing Wheatstone's or not is unkown.

Anglos are Diatonic and may have a Chromatic scale though they are commonly in the Key of C/G though D/G is also common.
