John Grey BanjolinA Banjolin is a stringed instrument which is the scale length of a mandolin but with a banjo construction and only 4 strings. If the instrument has 4 double string courses, it is a mandolin banjo. Some people call mandolin banjos 'banjo mandolins' which is wrong, and then contract this to 'banjolin' which is doubly wrong.

Banjolin is also the pseudonym of Paul Slater, the person behind Folkipedia, The Mandolin and Banjo Pages and The Session Diary. A sessioneer who plays both banjo and mandolin - hence the name - and actually owns this genuine John Grey banjolin.
