Brittany

A region in the North West of France with a Celtic culture surviving, much as in Galicia and Cornwall.

Brittany has a type of Call Response Song which is characteristic and is used as vocal music for line or round dancing. Due to its position on a penninsular, the sea features in the tradition in the form of Sea Shanties.

The traditional Instruments of the region are a type of Fiddle called the Violon, the Bagpipes and the Bombarde. More modern instruments such as Guitar, Flute and Accordian have also made an appearance.
