Cheese Rolling

An annual event in Gloucestershire at the end of May at Coopers Hill. A 7 lb round of Double Gloucester is rolled down the hill and as many as will race after it. First to the bottom wins the cheese. It has definitely been known for 200 years and may pre-date that.

Cheese Rolling is also known in Stilton at Easter where a cheese (or wooden replica) is played for on the road between two Pubs in a style akin to the Football customs.
