A singing family from Rottingdean in Sussex who have collected and sung unaccompanied traditional songs in harmony across several generations and were originally noted by the early Folk Song Society. Some say that the collection helped fom the society.
Bob Copper (1915 - 2004) was especially well known and gave interviews and talks on the traditions and songs and was awarded a lifetime achievement award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2001. His archive of songs and material has been presented to the University of Sussex.
There is also now a group of the younger generation who go out as the Young Coppers.
