A.V.Ebblewhite made banjos from the 1880s as the typical 5, 6 or 7 string models of the time but a great many branded as Ebblewhite were made by Windsor, Wilmshurst or Matthews.

His son, J H Ebblewhite contined to run the business which was mainly a wholesale and retail music business and traded until 1966 although banjo production had ceased in 1914.
