Leonard Cohen

A Canadian singer songwriter some of whose work is considered part of the Folk Tradition. In the late 1960s and early 1970s his songs were often performed in Folk Clubs and a whole generation knew songs such as Suzanne, Sisters of Mercy and Hey, that's no way to say goodbye.

It is said that popularly that his songs were dark and would drive you to suicide but that certainly isn't true of these early songs.
