Pousette

A dance move in lines in which couples face each other, give their partner both hands and change places as a couple with two adjacent dancers.

This means moving in two directions at once. One couple take steps with the Lady leading forwards (Gentleman stepping back) while the other couple (or couples) all move the opposite way - that is the Gentleman leading forwards and the Ladies stepping back. At the same time, the first couple will move down the set and the other couple(s) will move up the set to effect a change of place.

The leading person 'pushes' their partner, hence the name.
