SaxophoneA member of the woodwind family of musical Instruments although usually made of Brass. It is a single Reed instrument with a conical bore invented by Adolphe Sax in 1840. It is similar to the Clarinet in many respects except that it gets the second octave easily and has the same fingering for both octaves. Although typically flared at the end and turned up, straight saxophones are also quite common. They are produced in Sopranino, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and Contrabass.
