The Sbrando is a dance (and a type of music that accompanies it) from Italy, paricularly the Piemont region. It is essentially the same form of dance as the Bransle in France. A similar Jig time music for a dance called Monferrina (from Montferrat, Piemont) was imported to England with the dance and the two music forms became somewhat confused and combined into Country Dance Jigs.

It was inevitable, especially with the English sense of humour that someone would entitle a Sbrando - Smarlon. (Tiger Moth).

Other well known Sbrandos are the Sbrando del Roero and the Sbrando di Bra.
