Shawm

A wind Instrument of the woodwind family and ancestor of the Oboe. The Bombarde is a kind of Shawm.

Shawms have a double Reed played by directly positioning the lips over the reeds and are known in sizes from Sopranino to Bass. They are Diatonic and have a conical bore.
