The Wurzels

Originally Adge Cutler and the Wurzels but Adge was sadly killed in 1974. The Wurzels were his backing band - Adge wrote and performed the songs.

An English Folk Group from Somerset, they played up the West Country Yokel theme with their accents, dress, songs and references to Scrumpy (Cider). They topped the charts with 'Combine Harvester' in 1976 and have performed non-stop since 1966.

They are part of the so-called 'Scrumpy and Western' scene and have many recordings from their first album in 1967 - A live recording at Nailsea to The Wurzels Greatest Hits in 2007.
