TheraminAn electronic instrument or electrophone invented in 1919 by the Russian Leon Theramin (aka Lev Termen) originally as a radio. It proved to be a better instrument than a radio. It is essentially a kind of electronic Swannee Whistle which has no fixed pitch but a continuous scale of frequencies. The instrument is controlled by proximity of the human body to two components - one to control pitch and the other to control volume. Also spelled Theremin.

This is Leon Theramin with his instrument.
