Virginia Reel

An old dance and often known as Sir Roger De Coverley. It is a Line Dance - that is a line of 5 or 6 couples.

Two lines facing the band. Top couple is nearest the band.

• Top Lady and Bottom Man forward diagonally, honour and retire
• Top Man and Bottom Lady repeat
• Top Lady and Bottom Man forward diagonally, join right hands, turn and return to place
• Top Man and Bottom Lady repeat
• Top Lady and Bottom Man forward diagonally, join left hands, turn and return to place
• Top Man and Bottom Lady repeat
• Top Lady and Bottom Man forward diagonally, do-si-do and return to place
• Top Man and Bottom Lady repeat
• Top couple chasse down inside the set 4 steps and return to place
• Top couple Strip the Willow down the set
• Top couple chasse back to the top of the set and cast out.
• Top couple make an arch at the bottom of the set and other couples prosess through
• Dance starts again with old second couple now at top.
