English Banjo Maker

Alfred Weaver (1857 - 1919) started making Banjos in London in 1878. Early instruments were unfretted with 6 or 7 strings and quite ornate fingerboard. Later instruments were 5-String Banjos and Zither Banjos. Many instruments bear his name but he also made for the trade notably for Cammeyer, Turner and Clifford Essex.

King Edward VII played a Weaver Banjo.
